Genesis 17:1–18:15 "The Offspring Cut Off"

Many relationships have a breaking point, that point when someone taps out and says, “You’ve gone too far. This is over now.” Some Christians wonder if it’ll ever be like that for them when it comes to their relationship with their heavenly Father. Is there some breaking point when they’re going to be cut off? This passage is about the call upon all people to live in holiness before God, and the threat of being cut off from life in God because of our failure to do so. But as we tease out the great Genesis theme of "offspring," we come to the Lord Jesus, and discover that He has been cut off in our place. And through His death and sacrifice, we can grow in confidence of God’s faithfulness toward us.
