It’s always embarrassing to show up to an event badly prepared. You come to class having forgotten all about a test. A get-together with old friends, but you forgot that you were supposed to bring food. Many Christians come to the sacrament of the communion like this. We come ill-prepared because we haven’t recognized what an amazing gift from God it is, and because we don’t know how to prepare. We take up these topics in this sermon.
